Fixsie Health treats kids ages 3-17. Some conditions require in-person tests or examination, and can’t be treated remotely. Examples include UTIs, ear infections, strep throat, and STDs. Fixsie Health doesn’t treat COVID-19 in children.

Fixsie Health memberships are not insurance and exclude ancillary services (e.g., labs, equipment, cost of medication, etc). See Terms of Service.

The physicians allow you to say what you need to say and they truly listen to you. They don’t just write prescriptions they really dig deep into your chart and into your symptoms and treat you like you have been with them forever.

Less office visits Stephanie

Amazing alternative to in office visits. I made my account, had a clinician reach out to me, and was prescribed antibiotics in less than 30 minutes!

Frequently asked questions

During interactions with Fixsie Health Pediatrics, your child must be present with you. At the beginning of the doctor chat, you may be asked to submit a photo of your child, and the doctor may request that you observe certain things such as your child’s comfort level, temperature, or the presence of a rash.

Fixsie Health understands that children can be fidgety during visits, which is why most consultations are text-based. However, there may be instances where the doctor needs to see something more closely, in which case you may be asked to join a quick video chat or submit photos or a brief video. You will receive a text message notification when the doctor is available to chat.

Fixsie Health Pediatrics is for parents with children between the ages of 3 and 17. The parent must provide answers to questions on behalf of the child, and the child must be present during the visit. Once a child turns 18, they can create their own Fixsie Health account to use independently.

You can use Fixsie Health Pediatrics services in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Children between the ages of 3 and 17 require parental consent to use Fixsie Health Pediatrics services.

Normally, you can connect with a doctor in less than 60 minutes using the Fixsie Health platform, and doctors are available around the clock.

All our doctors at Fixsie Health are board-certified and have extensive experience treating children. They are well-trained to work with families remotely, and they are part of a collaborative, rigorous process to identify and adopt the highest standards of clinical care.

Fixsie Health’s doctors can diagnose and treat most of the medical conditions that require an in-person pediatrician visit. However, certain ailments such as ear infections and strep throat typically need an in-person evaluation. Our clinicians can evaluate the severity of symptoms, offer guidance on supportive care, and prescribe medication as required.

Diagnosing COVID-19 can be challenging in children, so our doctors may not be able to diagnose it remotely. Nevertheless, they can provide suggestions on the best way to manage symptoms and the appropriate next steps.

Fixsie Health-affiliated doctors can prescribe medication as necessary. They’ll typically send prescriptions to your local pharmacy within a few hours of your chat.

Doctors can also refill many children’s prescriptions for up to 90 days so you have time to get back to your primary doctor to follow up. According to our refill policy, you’ll need to demonstrate that your child has a recent prescription through a photo or pharmacy listing.

Note: Controlled substances such as certain ADHD medications or medications for chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders or seizure disorders are not prescribed by our doctors at this time. Learn more about what we prescribe in our Medical Policies.

The Fixsie affiliated doctors are skilled in asking intelligent and perceptive questions to help determine the cause of your child’s symptoms. During your virtual visit, you might be requested to perform actions like examining your child’s throat, listening to their heartbeat, pressing on their abdomen, or assessing their skin for rashes or discoloration, to help the doctor make an accurate diagnosis.

Additionally, the doctor may use images or diagrams to provide visual aid and assist with the diagnosis. If you encounter difficulties getting your child to cooperate during the visit or are unable to answer questions, the doctor may ask you to submit a brief video for further evaluation.

For accurate results and proper treatment, it’s important that you are present with your child during all interactions with Fixsie Health. When you begin a chat with a doctor, they may request you to provide a photo of your child.

During the consultation, the doctor may ask you to perform certain tasks such as checking if your child’s nose is runny or stuffy, evaluating their overall comfort level, taking their temperature, pinching their skin, or describing any rash with guidance. This is to help the doctor make an informed diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment.

You can only use Fixsie Health on behalf of a child if you’re their legal guardian. For example, a grandmother would only be able to Fixsie Health for a child if she is the legal guardian of that child.

Please note: We do require legal documentation to prove an adult is the child’s legal guardian, and we don’t treat emancipated minors at this time.

You can add all of your children to your Fixsie Health account and consult the Doctors about their symptoms without any extra charges.

If you have subscribed to our Fixsie Health Primary Care membership, you will get unlimited Urgent Care virtual visits for all your children. However, if you opt for a one-time visit, it will cost $60 per child.

Since treatment and health guidance are dependent on age, gender, and previous medical history, it’s important to focus on one child at a time during each conversation with Fixsie Health and its affiliated doctors.

During a visit for a child, Fixsie Health doctors can provide notes for your child to return to, or be dismissed from, school, activities, camp, and more, if needed.

However, during an adult visit, Fixsie Health-affiliated clinicians can only provide a note stating the date when they saw you and that care was provided.
